Old Home Days Parade, Pittsfield, NH
Saturday, September 12th, 2026 at 12:30pm
We are kicking off the 2026-2027 Season with a wonderful parade in Pittsfield to help them celebrate their Old Home Day! This year they are combining Old Home Day and Homecoming to honor their history and their future.
We'd love for you to come enjoy the band's first show of the season and enjoy the day's festivities as well!
Directions:
Head north to Concord, east on Route 393 to Route 4. At Epsom traffic circle, follow Rt. 28 north to Pittsfield, about 10 miles north, exits to the right of 28 to get to downtown.
Old Home Day Parade and Concert, Hollis, NH

Parade through Center of Town/Concert at Depot Road Ball Fields
We can't wait to celebrate Old Home Day in Hollis with everyone! Join us in the morning for a great parade starting at the High School, through Monument Square, and down to the Depot Road Ball Fields where you will be able to find all sorts of stalls and activities. At noon the band will be taking center stage for an amazing concert!
Apple Festival, Hollis, NH
Sunday, October 4th, 2026 at 2:00pm
Monument Square in Hollis, NH
Join us for our annual Apple Festival! We will have wonderful music as well as delicious apple pie (made by our band members) and ice cream for sale to enjoy with the show and the beautiful autumn weather!
In the event of rain, the concert and pie serving will be held in the Hollis-Brookline Middle School.

Annual Concerts
A Christmas, Chanukah, Winter, Kwanza, New Year's, Whatever You Want to Call it Concert
The band's annual "Christmas, Chanukah, Kwanza, Winter, New Year, Whatever You Want To Call It Concert" is held at the Hollis-Brookline High School Auditorium.
The concert is cosponsored by the band and the Women's Fellowship of the Hollis Congregational Church.. The price of admission is one non-perishable food item, to be donated to local homeless shelters and soup kitchens. Refreshments may also be purchased before the concert and during intermission.
The concert features a wide variety of works for band and chorus, including symphonic pieces and popular holiday classics. Included each year are a sing-along and a rousing rendition of Handel's Messiah.
Accompanying the band in many of the pieces is a chorus, whose members are drawn from the surrounding area. If you would like to participate in the chorus, rehearsals start in mid-October from 7:30 to 8:15 PM on Wednesdays.
No auditions - if you're breathing, you're in!
Pops Concert
The Annual Pops Concert is held at the Alpine Grove Banquet Facility, near the junction of Routes 111 and 111A in Hollis.
Start off spring right with an afternoon of fine music and fine desserts, surrounded by friends and neighbors.
Throughout the concert, an enticing dessert buffet fills the center of the Alpine Grove; it is open to all ticket-holders.
An entire table may be reserved If you have a group of 10 - just let us know.
Strawberry Festival
The band's annual Strawberry Festival is always held on the 4th Sunday in June from 2pm until 4pm on Monument Square in the middle of the village of Hollis. The Strawberry Festival is cosponsored by the band and the Hollis Woman's Club. In the event of rain, the Strawberry Festival is held inside Hollis Brookline Middle School on Rt. 122.
The band program consists of a variety of marches, symphonic, popular and patriotic pieces - admission is free.
The Hollis Woman's Club will be selling strawberry shortcakes and sundaes made with Hollis-grown strawberries, just-baked shortcakes, fresh whipped cream and delicious ice cream.
Apple Festival
The band's annual Apple Festival is held on the first Sunday of October on Monument Square in the center of Hollis, NH It is cosponsored by the band and the Hollis Brookline Junior Cavaliers. In the event of rain the Apple Festival is held inside Hollis Brookline Middle School.
The band program consists of a variety of marches, symphonic pieces, and popular music - admission is free.
Available for purchase are home-made apple pies (baked by band members and members of the Hollis Woman's Club), home-made apple crisp, and Ice Cream.
A raffle will be held for various prizes, including the ever-popular chance to conduct the band in "The Stars and Stripes Forever".
Players Wanted!
Interested in playing with the Hollis Town Band?
We'd be delighted to have you join us. All that we ask is that you have a band instrument, be able to play sixteenth-notes and read music. The skill level of band members ranges from novice to semi-professional, but what we're most interested in is having fun making music. We rehearse most Wednesday evenings ( Wednesday after Labor Day through the third Wednesday in June ) from 7:30 to 9:00PM at the Hollis Brookline Middle School, 25 Main Street, Hollis, NH.
The band has performances throughout the year from
September through July but we take August off completely.

About The Band
The Hollis Town Band was founded in 1943 to provide Hollis, New Hampshire area students with an opportunity to play in a band. Initially called the Hollis Church School Band, the band gained its current name in 1965.
Over the years, the band has provided area students and adults with an opportunity to grow together musically while performing a wide variety of music. Currently, the band includes 80 members from Hollis and many surrounding towns in southern New Hampshire and northern Massachusetts.
In addition to providing the opportunity for local students to perform in a band, the Hollis Town Band also sponsors the Schellenberg-Twichell-Jeynes Memorial Scholarship, given in the spring to deserving band members entering college or attending music camps. The scholarship is named in memory of longtime members and supporters of the band.
Hollis Town Band has been a proud member of the Association of Concert Bands for a number of years! Through the ACB we are able to purchase annual performance licenses through BMI and ASCAP, which are the two largest performing rights organizations in the US. This ensures composers and publishers get paid royalties when we perform their music at our concerts!
In addition to supporting composers, The Association was formed and works very hard to support adult concert, community, and municipal bands! On their website, they have an extensive database of all member bands and their locations, which helps conductors and musicians find new bands if they move.
Quarterly, ACB issues a magazine which contains interesting articles about concert bands, reviews on new music, and ads for composers and publishers. This helps us grow our music library so we can continue to perform new music for our community!
